2021 Competitions

Welcome all!

Well, what an amazing year, how things have changed since we ran last year’s Salon Culinaire in March 2020.

Sadly, we have had to cancel the live Salon for 2021 due to the postponement of HRC, but that will not stop us here, at Salon Culinaire HQ. We are constantly looking for new opportunities and are organizing some live cooking and virtually run competitions, showcasing them on our website and on all our digital channels.

Through these tough times it has become very apparent that along with job security, having a goal, using your imagination and a challenge is what chefs strive for. Therefore, during the first 6 months of 2021 we will be hosting a variety of competitions, giving chefs the ability to enter in various categories and the option of competing live or via short video links from your own kitchens.

We’ll also be streaming a variety of master classes to enhance your progression. They will be hosted by specialist chefs who have previously won multiple gold medals at International Standard.  

The Hospitality industry, but especially chefs are very resilient, so let’s make Salon Culinaire 2021 as special as it was in March 2020 at Excel, London. Please keep visiting this website for new competitions and opportunities that will be regularly updated.

A selection of Covid-19 safe, themed and filmed live hot culinary competitions, including the Tilda Chef Team of the Year award, that will take place behind closed doors at Leiths Cookery School.

These are themed hot cooking competitions using specific ingredients and judged on creative use of those ingredients, presentation and inspiration – these competitions allow chefs to compete from their own kitchens.

A programme of skills competitions designed to give younger, less experienced chefs a forum in which to compete and practise some of the skills that are essential to their trade. These will take place at competitor’s own colleges.

Our online masterclasses will offer a fantastic opportunity for chefs to learn more about the art of creating a static culinary show piece. We have invited award winning, seasoned competitors and experts who will be demonstrating some of the techniques used – giving future competitors an insight into what will they need to do to create a medal winning entry.

Our Sugar Craft and Cake Decorating competitions offer entrants to explore their creativity through a means of different mediums and themes all in a virtual format to showcase.  The competitions have been curated by Lesley Herbert, esteemed lecturer and author.
